Nova Fencing and Multisport is a non-profit club that works toward introducing people to sports that get overshadowed by the mainstream. We are a friendly club who wants everyone to achieve their goals whether to compete, to improve health, or to just have fun!
Mark Samuel – Fencing Head Coach
Mark has been fencing since his first lesson when he was 6 years old. He has competed across Canada, the US, the UK, and in Europe. He won a bronze medal in the Canada Winter Games in 1990. He was a member of the 1991 U17 Canadian National Team and competed at the U17 Fencing World Championships in Foggia, Italy. He has won many tournaments over the years, but more recently the 2023 Alberta Provincial Championships – Senior Men’s Epée, 2023 Alberta Provincial Championships – Veteran Men’s Epée, and the 2022 Commonwealth Championships: Veteran Men’s Epée in London, UK.

Mark LOVES fencing, and he loves sharing his knowledge of fencing technique, strategies, and tactics with fencers new and experienced. He knows that once you get a taste of fencing, you will be hooked for life!
